Notes on Slender's spread
Something Awful Forum and Victor Surge: June 8th 2009, Victor Surge (later revealed as Eric Knudsen) entered the following two pictures into a “Paranormal Images” contest on the Something Awful forum with the following captions-
One of two recovered photographs from the Stirling City Library blaze. Notable for being taken the day of which fourteen children vanished and for what is referred to as “ The Slender Man”. Deformities cited as film defects by officials. Fire at the library occurred one week later. Actual photograph confiscated as evidence. -1986, photographer: Mary Thomas, missing since June 13th, 1986.
The pictures then became popular on the forum, and people started recreating the character with more pictures.

Also, this web series is how the idea of proxies came about, furthering the overall of Slenderman’s story.
4Chan /x/: June 24, 2009, there is supposed mention of the Slenderman on the Paranormal /x/ 4Chan board. Sadly, due to how old the post is, and the robot.txt. preventing any tracking, there is no possible way to verify this except from references by many other sources. However, this does show the Slenderman spreading yet again, via social media and forums. Constantly adding and expanding to his story.

Tumblr being one of the much larger social media enviroments, this was a great turning point for Slenderman and his so called brother/cousin ‘Trendorman’
